Horizon Ministries

Horizon's Sunday Service

Horizon's weekend service is on Sundays, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Our worship service is casual but hard-hitting with thematic biblical teaching and excellent music.  Messages are supplemented by contemporary media presentations and designed to help both believers and those exploring Christianity discover how following Jesus Christ makes all the differenc.

Other Ways to Be in Touch With Us

You can visit Horizon in two other places:

You can also visit us on Facebook at "Horizon Ministries"

Easter At Horizon

Horizon will be celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 8, at its 10 a.m. service.

Our day of Easter Sunday worship will begin at 7 a.m., with a sunrise service at the "nob" by Jane's Park on Woodie's Lane.  That brief service will be followed by some indoor worship at the Church of the Brethren and a breakfast.

Horizon's Cafe will be open as usual before the morning service.

Men's Breakfast

Horizon will host a Men's Breakfast in the Horizon Cafe on Saturday, April 28, at 8 a.m.

This event is open to the men of Horizon and their guests.

April's "Second Sunday" will be on April 15

April's "Second Sunday," which would have normally been on this coming Sunday, April 8, has been moved to the third Sunday in April because of Easter.

That means that we will enjoy a bounteous repast of burgers, brats and hot dogs on Sunday, April 15, following the morning service.  Everyone brings something to share, while the burgers, brats and hot dogs are provided.

The awesome truth is that, even if you don't bring something to share, or if you weren't plannin on joining the "Second Sunday" event, you are encouraged to hang around after the morning service to enjoy some great food and some outstanding fellowship!

What is Roman Catholicism?

We've looked at Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses and Scientology in our before-service discussions in the Cafe, but now we're going to take a look at Roman Catholicism.

Pastor Jim will begin the discussion on Sunday, April 15.  He will then be joined on April 22 by his friend, and Horizon's friend, Jeff Meixel, who is a Roman Catholic and has a degree in theology from Notre Dame.

Jeff will help us better understand some of the differences between Roman Catholicism and Protestant Christianity.
